Message from one of the POLLEN Nodes:
The ODI Resilient and Sustainable Islands Initiative (RESI), in conjunction with UN-DESA, UN-OHRLLS, and AOSIS, is issuing a call for up to 10 policy-focused research papers to inform debate at the “SIDS Future Forum”. This event will be co-hosted with Island Innovation and will take place in mid-to-late March 2024 (location TBC).
This is an unrivaled opportunity for academics and other expert researchers to engage with relevant policymakers in advance of the Fourth International UN Conference on Small Island Developing States in Antigua-Barbuda in late May 2024.
The intention is to commission two papers on each of the five topics that have crystallized during the regional and interregional preparatory meetings in mid-2023. Authors will be paid an honorarium and provided with funding to attend the SIDS Future Forum.
The full call for papers is attached and also available at this link: https://bit.ly/SIDSFutureForum2024CFP
Informal inquiries: Matt Bishop (m.bishop@sheffield.ac.uk) and Dr Courtney Lindsay (c.lindsay@odi.org.uk). The deadline for proposals is 5pm UK time on 27th November 2023.
