Call for funding POLLEN2026

The Call for Funding for POLLEN2026 is now open! 10 February - 25 March

Those with accepted content who require assistance with travel, accommodation & registration costs in order to attend the conference can apply for funding from 10 February until 25 March.

  • All applications must be submitted via the online form.
  • Requests for funding may cover registration, accommodation, and international travel, but not any other costs such as food, drink or local travel while in Barcelona
  • Priority will be given to those coming from poorer economies, early-career academics, independent scholars, and students;
  • We will also try and balance the distribution of support across panels.
  • Please do not seek funding if you can find it from another source.
  • In order to support more delegates, we are unlikely to provide full support to successful applicant.
  • Demonstration of other partial sources of funds by the applicant will not deter the committee from allocating funding support to the applicant, should they meet the eligibility criteria.
  • Please keep your ‘other information’ concise. Details about your paper, how important this conference is to your career, etc. are not helpful. Keep to facts regarding alternate sources of funding, how much funding would be helpful to you etc.
  • If you make a mistake, please do not resubmit, but email pollen(at)nomadit.co.uk
  • Deadline for applications: 25 March 2026
  • We will endeavour to make and communicate decisions by 8 April 2025.

How funding will be allocated

The initial portion of funding will be allocated as a registration fee waiver in our system; any allocation exceeding that will be remitted to recipients’ bank accounts on receipt of electronic receipts for travel and accommodation.

Successful applicants must pay their costs up-front and submit receipts via email in order to be reimbursed ahead of time or at the conference. (There may be exceptions so let us know if this is the case.)

Please note

We anticipate far more applicants than the limited funds will be able to assist. With continuing scarcity of institutional funding and difficult economic conditions, we envisage competition will be significant high. Demand to attend POLLEN is unprecedented this year and we apologise in advance for the inevitable disappointments to come.

Applications have greater chance of success if the amount requested is low or just for registration fee waivers, as we would like to help as many delegates as possible.
